Farm Tours, Activities and Classes


Many of Okanogan Country’s farms and ranches offer tours, special activities, classes and camps for all ages. Visit a real orchard or farm to find out how your food is grown and raised – you may even get to participate in the daily activities of the farmers!

 

Visit an Organic Farm or Guest Ranch in North Central Washington and help with chores like feeding the animals or weeding the garden! Many ranches let you participate in a real cattle drive or trail ride. Workshops, classes and seasonal camps are also available. Check with the farmers and ranchers below for their special events, activities, classes and camps.

Established 100 yrs ago, it is still one of the few pioneer farms still run by the same family. 38 acres of both organic and "tenderly tended" fruit. We love to have people visit our farm and we have five varieties of apples and two cherry, as well as pears for sale. BellyFull Farm also sells organically grown plants and vegetables in season from the farm.

We are a licensed goat dairy and make farmstead goat cheese. We feature pasture-raised beef, chevon, poultry, and hay. We also offer hikes, day treks and horseback rides into the Wildlife Reserve. Shaw's Fruit & Produce is 6.5 miles downriver from Grand Coulee Dam. We grow most of our own fruit: cherries, apricots, peaches, nectarines and 28 varieties of apples. Fresh apple cider, green beans, cucumbers, zuchinni, and beets are our own plus a full acre of pumpkins and squash. We feature locally produced asparagus, Walla Walla Sweet Onions, corn, melons and dry beans. We also sell Minnesota wild rice, sorghum, jams and jellies, applets and cotlets and Chukar Cherry products. Open 7 days a week, 9 to 6, May - November.

Nestled in a scenic valley along the shores of Palmer Lake, Similkameen Adventures offers educational excursions, horse camps, guided trail rides and riding lessons. All our staff and horses are proudly Okanogan grown! We raise quality quarter horses and ponies to use in our programs. Foals are born April - June with some available for sale each year. Summer activities and farm tours give campers the opportunity to learn about rural life in a rustic setting where everyone helps with chores from feeding animals to weeding the garden.
