What to do

Mountain Biking

Feel like a spin? More than a million acres of public lands criss-crossed by dirt roads and double/single track trails offer experiences in the saddle that are virtually endless. The climate is perfect for riding with low humidity, clear mountain air, and plenty of sunshine throughout the season. Okanogan Country’s scenic mountain biking trails are enjoyable for all skill levels, from beginner to the decorated warrior!

North Central Washington offers a variety of double and single track mountain bike trails in both smooth and rough terrains from quiet forest rides to high alpine vistas. Mountain bike trails follow many scenic river trails, and old logging roads make perfect bike roads to gain altitude with a sweet climb in the sunshine. Take some time out to stretch your neck and back muscles under a deep blue sky. Inhale a deep breath of that clean crisp alpine air before crouching over the saddle and enjoying a technical downhill descent. Afterwards, toast your buddies at a local brew pub, sharing tales of aerial maneuvers while planning your next adventure. Or for a quieter spin, pedal through wildflower meadows and forest paths teeming with woodland creatures. Dip your toes in the crystal clear water along a river bank and take in the stunning views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. After a day in the saddle, enjoy great food and live music offered at many Okanogan Country restaurants, or relax at a wellness spa.

Information on bike shuttle services, bike shops for rentals and repairs, trail maps, trail conditions, group rides, and events is readily available for all your cross country bicycling needs.
