What to do
Enjoy white water rafting in Okanogan Country along sunny stretches of scenic river and exhilarating rapids. North Central Washington has some of the best white water rafting in the United States. Class III and VI rapids can be found along Black Canyon River, and scenic wildlife and views can be found along the Methow River. Experienced guides and outfitters are waiting to show you an adventure of a lifetime in the North Cascades and North Central Washington rivers!
Many experienced white water guides can offer you a variety of packages, from short rides to full-day trips including lunch on sandy beaches. Rafting outfitters also provide information on the best put in spots, offer shuttle services and raft rentals, and can provide up to date information on flow rates for the best experience on the river!
Whitewater rafting can be dangerous, so don't try this without a guide!
Paddling along the river, you may spot bald eagles in the treetops, deer drinking from deep pools, and a wide variety of native wildflowers. We recommend a trip that includes Black Canyon’s class III and class IV rapids for the adventuresome types!
Okanogan Country has over 500 km of rivers, most of which can
be experienced river rafting.
With the high runoff period usually in May, this is the ideal time to plan an exciting trip.
If you are looking for a more peaceful experience, try getting some inner tubes in August and early September, and float the day away.
