Bonaparte Lake Campground
Bonaparte Lake is a 151.70 acre lake found at 3,556 feet in Okanogan County. A very scenic lake located near Tonasket that provides a diverse year round fishery. A USFS campground and private resort has camping, cabins, and boat launching facilities. Bonaparte is also a popular winter ice fishing lake. Expect kokanee in the 10-12 inch range along with triploid eastern brook trout, tiger trout, and the occasional lake trout. Anglers are encouraged to remove as many smallmouth bass as the daily limit provides in order to decrease their competition effects on the trout species.
This National Forest campground is a popular site, there are 27 campsites available with 2 triple sites, 7 double sites, 14 single sites, 3 walk in tent sites, and 1 group site. A boat launch, wheelchair accessible fishing dock, and day use/swimming area are also popular amenities. Water and garbage dumpsters are available for overnight camps. Three toilets as well as a flush toilet service the campground. The campground also has a seasonal Camp Host. This is a Fee site ($12.00). May through October.
Day use area with picnic tables, swimming area and vault toilets. No fee for day use.
From Tonasket, take State Route 20 East for 24 miles to County Road #4953 (Bonaparte Recreation Area). Take County Road #4953 5.5 miles where it turns into Forest Service Road #32. The Bonaparte Lake Campground entrance is on the left.
